Around Coundon Wedge Drive

This post is a culmination of 2 shoots that I conducted a couple of weeks apart. It's getting towards Spring now so I had a lot stronger sun to contend with on the second shoot.

So if you carry on over this bridge which is where I left off last time...

...and through the kissing gate you can see on the left of this image the river continues on its way through the trees...

...until it emerges from the bushes and flows through the middle of the field, cutting its way through the ground.

Here we're approaching the main road, Coundon Wedge Drive (just beyond the line of trees), which forms a bridge over the water.

It's strange to think that I've driven along here more times than I can count, completely oblivious to what was underneath.

I find it interesting how, having just been able to freely flow and find it's own meandering path through the field that the river is now so restricted as it passes through the tunnel under the road.

So we are now on the other side of Coundon Wedge Drive which is where the Sherbourne is joined by the North Brook. You can see in the image below the river on the left and the brook on the right. It's funny, kind of; the address of my secondary school was North Brook road and it never occurred to me that it was named after an actual brook!
