After my first shoot I had a chat with my lecturer and came away convinced that the globe and paper aeroplanes were the way to go to in order to convey ideas of absence and distance. So this was my second shoot, my friend and I went a little bit nuts spending a morning throwing planes around the studio. I then layered all the shots together in Photoshop.

P9 shoot 1
For this module we had to write our own brief. I started with one idea that wasn't really going anywhere so almost half way through the module I went back to the objects I photographed for my summer project. As I tried to develop the idea I started to think more about the gifts that were given to members of my family from friends or other family members who have travelled abroad as I think it says something very special about the relationship for the giver to be in another country and still thinking about somebody back at home.
At this point I was still keen on incorporating some sort of paper construction, as I had really enjoyed creating my paper silhouettes for my final module last year, and so I started trying to think about other things that can be associated with travel that I could make to photograph with the objects (I did buy a globe as I can imagine that to attempt to make one out of paper would have been a challenge!). I'll admit, I'm not overly pleased with how these were working but it was important for me to try it out and see.

Journey: 2015 Summer project
My summer project from my uni tutors this year is to create a piece of work based on the concept of "Journey". The brief instructed us to "think out side the box" and so, in my attempt to think of an original idea and not just document a journey, I've spent a loooong time thinking about it and am just getting started possibly a little bit at the last minute.......
So anyway, instead of documenting an actual journey through time and space I am experimenting with photographing souvenir type objects that have been on a journey from somewhere in the world and ended up with us in England. In order to show where they have come from, I have placed them next there country of origin in the atlas.
These are just a few shots from my first shoot, at the moment I'm experimenting with composition.
